Andre Villas-Boas: 'I will quit football management within a decade'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas claims he will quit football within the next 10 years to compete in the Dakar Rally.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has claimed that he will quit football management within the next "five to 10 years."

The 35-year-old, who started in management when he was just 21, says that he wants to be proud of his career.

"My passion for football makes me live it very intensely over 11 months and dedicate myself to that," Villas-Boas told O Jogo. "But life allows you to enjoy other things.

"For me, there is a limit and, in the next five to 10 years, I will quit coaching. To compete in the Dakar Rally is a lifetime ambition for me and is something I know I have to do. It went from a passion to an obligation.

"I do not know where my career will take me. What I do know is that it will not last too long."

Villas-Boas took over at Spurs from Harry Redknapp last summer.
