Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to sack manager Nuno Espirito Santo if Mauricio Pochettino was available to return to the hotseat.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still hopeful that Mauricio Pochettino will return for a second shot at the manager's job.

Spurs' long and arduous search for a new head coach saw them appoint Nuno Espirito Santo for the 2021-22 season, but his future is already being called into question following three consecutive Premier League defeats.

Daniel Levy is not thought to have any immediate plans to relieve Santo of his duties, but a further string of underwhelming results could force the Spurs chairman to take action.

Pochettino was linked with a return to Spurs over the summer, and according to Football Insider, Santo would be given the boot if the Argentine expressed his interest in returning to North London.

Pochettino has overseen 33 wins from his 45 games in charge of Paris Saint-Germain so far, including eight out of eight in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season, but he is said to be under immense pressure to deliver Champions League glory to Paris.

The 49-year-old is contracted to the Ligue 1 giants until the summer of 2023, while Santo's deal at Spurs will also run out in just under two years' time.
