French midfielder Moussa Sissoko starts for Tottenham Hotspur against his former club Newcastle United in Sunday's Premier League clash.

French midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been named in the Tottenham Hotspur XI for Sunday's Premier League clash with newly-promoted Newcastle United.

Sissoko struggled to impress for Tottenham last season following a move from Newcastle, but the 27-year-old has been included in Mauricio Pochettino's first league XI of the 2017-18 season.

Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane also all start for Spurs, while 20-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters will make his top-flight debut at right-back due to Kieran Trippier's injury.

As for Newcastle, summer arrivals Javi Manquillo, Florian Lejeune and Christian Atsu are included in Rafael Benitez's team, but Jacob Murphy and Aleksandar Mitrovic are on the bench as Dwight Gayle is picked to lead the line.

Newcastle United: Elliot; Manquillo, Clark, Lejeune, Dummett; Shelvey, Hayden; Ritchie, Perez, Atsu; Gayle
Subs: Darlow, Lascelles, Murphy, Aarons, Mbemba, Merino, Mitrovic

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Dembele; Sissoko, Eriksen, Alli; Kane
Subs: Vorm, Carter-Vickers, Wimmer, Wanyama, Winks, Son, Janssen
