New Son Heung-min deal 'to be announced this summer'

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to announce a new deal for Son Heung-min when the 2020-21 campaign reaches its conclusion, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min will reportedly put pen to paper on a new deal with the capital outfit in the summer.

The South Korea captain has been indispensable to Jose Mourinho this term with 17 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, including 13 strikes in the Premier League.

Son's current deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is not due to expire until 2023, but talks over a new contract are believed to have been rumbling on for a while now.

Now, Eurosport reports that talks are progressing well between the two parties, but Tottenham will not announce any new contract for the forward until the 2020-21 season reaches its conclusion.

Spurs manager Mourinho recently affirmed that he is confident a new deal could be agreed with the former Bayer Leverkusen man, and claimed it was simply a case of waiting "for the right moment".

The 28-year-old has amassed 102 goals and 57 assists from 261 appearances across all competitions in North London.
