Tim Sherwood: 'Emmanuel Adebayor wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur'

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood insists that striker Emmanuel Adebayor wants to be part of the future at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has insisted that Emmanuel Adebayor wants to stay at the club as he is settled in London.

The striker has been in impressive form since Sherwood took over at White Hart Lane, scoring 11 goals under the English coach.

Sherwood doesn't believe that the club will be open to selling Adebayor in the near future and spoke in glowing terms about the former Arsenal man's ability and conduct around the training ground.

"I'm sure he wants to be part of the future here. I don't think he wants to keep moving clubs." Sherwood told reporters.

"Adebayor is a pleasure to work with and is a good role model for younger players. He trains excellently, conducts himself well and I've never had a problem with him.

"He has married his talent with a top attitude and has been reaping the rewards since I got here. His family is settled in London and he just wants to help us win as many games as possible."

Spurs face Sunderland in the Premier League on Monday night.
