Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering using Tanguy Ndombele as a makeweight in an offer for Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout.
Ndombele has been deemed surplus to requirements by Spurs boss Antonio Conte, who has handed him just one Premier League start since October.
The France international is free to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month, with reports suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing him on loan.
However, Italian outlet Tuttosport claims that Spurs could have alternative plans for the wantaway midfielder if they choose to move for Veretout.
Veretout has established himself as a key member of Jose Mourinho's side at Roma, scoring four goals and creating eight more in 28 appearances across all competitions.
The 28-year-old's form is understood to have alerted Conte and Fabio Paratici as they look at options to bolster their midfield ranks.
Veretout has previous experience playing in the Premier League, although his time in England's top flight ended with relegation at Aston Villa.
Any switch to the Stadio Olimpico for Ndombele would see him reunite with former Spurs boss Mourinho, despite the midfielder often being limited to substitute appearances during their time together in North London.
