Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann as a potential January signing.
Mauricio Pochettino has had to contend with injuries to Dele Alli and Harry Kane in recent weeks, while Mousa Dembele has left for the Chinese Super League.
The Argentine only has a week to add to his squad but according to Bild, talks are already underway with Monchengladbach player Hofmann.
The creative midfielder has contributed five goals and four assists from 13 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, and there have been suggestions that the 26-year-old is edging nearer a call-up to the Germany squad.
Hofmann has less than 18 months remaining on his contract, leaving Monchengladbach in a position where they may begin to consider cashing in on one of their star men.
