Inter Milan have reportedly offered Tottenham Hotspur the chance to re-sign Christian Eriksen on loan just eight months after he departed the club.
After six and a half years with Spurs, the 28-year-old completed a move to the Serie A outfit in January in a transfer saga that was documented in the Amazon series All or Nothing.
The Danish attacker has struggled to settle in at Antonio Conte's side, however, and is now reportedly behind Stefano Sensi in the Italian's pecking order.
According to Football Insider, Inter - now with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Achraf Hakimi among their ranks - are desperate to get their wage bill down before the window shuts in Italy at 7pm tonight.
The club are said to have contacted Spurs, as well as other top-six Premier League sides, with the proposition of taking Eriksen on loan for the campaign in exchange for covering half of his £200,000-a-week wages.
Spurs have enjoyed an impressive transfer window this summer, re-signing Gareth Bale on loan from Real Madrid as well as completing permanent deals for the likes of Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Eriksen has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain in recent days.
