St Mirren 'want Alan Stubbs as next manager'

St Mirren reportedly eye former Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs as their next manager.

St Mirren have reportedly turned their attention to Alan Stubbs in their search for a new manager.

The Scottish Premiership side are keen to open talks with the former Everton defender to agree personal terms by the beginning of next week, according to Sky Sports News.

Guti and Patrick Kluivert are said to have applied for the St Mirren job, but chairman Gordon Scott is seeking a head coach with experience of Scottish football.

Stubbs found success in Scotland with Hibernian, guiding the Edinburgh outfit to the Scottish Cup in 2016.

The 46-year-old has been out of work since parting company with Rotherham United two years ago.
