Charlie Adam charged with violent conduct by Football Association

The FA charges Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam with violent conduct.

The Football Association has charged Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam with violent conduct.

The charge relates to an altercation involving Adam and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud during Saturday's 1-0 win for Stoke at the Britannia Stadium.

The incident was not seen by the match officials at the time, but a three-man panel have deemed it to be a sending-off offence.

Adam has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the charge.
