Tony Pulis eyes success for Welsh clubs

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis admits that it is "wonderful" to see Welsh clubs doing well in their respective leagues this season.

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has admitted that he hopes Welsh clubs can continue to impress for the remainder of the season.

The 55-year-old, who was born close to Welsh city Newport, has seen Cardiff City, Newport County and Wrexham all make promotion bids from their respective leagues this season and he is hopeful that they can continue to revive Welsh football.

Pulis told the club's official website: "As a Welshman, it is wonderful to see them doing so well and it could turn out to be a fantastic season.

"As well as Swansea's success, it would be lovely to see Cardiff get promoted to the Premier League, so that we have two Welsh clubs at that level. On top of that, Newport and Wrexham have got a great chance of getting back into the league."

Pulis takes Stoke to face Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
