Lee Cattermole: 'Injured trio's return is a massive boost'

Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole believes that it will be a massive boost for his side to have Emanuele Giaccherini, Ricky Alvarez and Billy Jones fit again.

Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole has admitted that it will be huge for his side to have Emanuele Giaccherini, Ricky Alvarez and Billy Jones back from injury.

The trio have been sidelined for the past month for the Black Cats, and as a result have missed their last four Premier League matches, but are now fit to return against Leicester City on Saturday.

"It will be massive to get those back," Cattermole told the Sunderland Echo. We haven't got the biggest of squads, so to be missing those three players is hard.

"Things got so stretched the gaffer had to bring in the new lad – Anthony Reveillere – and you don't usually do stuff like that at this stage of the season.

"It shows that we haven't got enough numbers to be able to afford to lose many people."

Sunderland are 14th in the Premier League going into the clash at the King Power Stadium.
