Sunderland's Premier League clash with Reading at the Stadium of Light has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The city was hit by torrential downpour overnight and, following lengthy discussion between managers Martin O'Neill and Brian McDermott, referee Neil Swarbrick made the decision to call the match off at around 1.45pm.
A date for the rearranged fixture is expected to be announced shortly.
Sunderland have announced that all tickets purchased will remain valid.
