Alan Curtis delighted with Swansea City display in win over Watford

Interim Swansea boss Alan Curtis hails his side's performance against Watford as one of their best of the season and believes Francesco Guidolin would have been impressed.

Interim Swansea City manager Alan Curtis has claimed that his side's performance in their 1-0 victory over Watford this evening was one of their best of the season.

The Swans picked up just their second win in their last 13 matches in all competitions courtesy of Ashley Williams's header shortly before the half-hour mark.

Incoming Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin was watching in the stands, and Curtis believes that he would have been pleased by what he saw.

"It was one of our better performances of the season. We could have done with the second goal but it is a huge three points," he told Sky Sports News.

"We needed to have a good start, we were down after three minutes against Sunderland, so the first goal is vital. The crowd played a huge part as well. Everyone is delighted and it is the start of a long road between now and the end of the season.

"I am sure the new manager will be more than pleased with what he saw. We need an experienced leader. We have put in some good performances but not got the results. If he can use his experience to get the results then it will be good."

The victory lifted Swansea out of the relegation zone after results at the weekend had seen them slip into the bottom three.
