Jonathan de Guzman wants Swansea City stay

Swansea loanee Jonathan de Guzman admits that he would prefer to stay at the Liberty Stadium next season rather than return to Villarreal.

Jonathan de Guzman has revealed that he would like to turn his loan spell at Swansea City into a permanent transfer.

The Dutch international is scheduled to return to parent club Villarreal at the end of the season, but has admitted that he would prefer to stay with the League Cup winners.

He said: "It was a no-brainer coming here. Everyone knows I am happy here, we have not talked about it but if it comes to talks my ears are open, my first choice would be to stay."

De Guzman scored twice as the Swans collected their first major trophy with a record-breaking victory over Bradford City at Wembley on Sunday.
