Swansea City forward Michu plans to play slightly deeper next season, claiming that he can be more dangerous in a support role for Wilfried Bony.

Swansea City forward Michu has declared that he is delighted with new signing Wilfried Bony and plans to score more alongside the striker next season.

Michu struck 22 times in his debut campaign at the Liberty Stadium, helping the Swans claim League Cup glory and a top-half finish in the Premier League.

He told The Mirror: "I prefer to play behind the striker so I hope you will see a better Michu. I scored more goals when I played behind a striker last season.

"I like that position because I can move around and the centre-backs are looking for the striker and not me. I can arrive late from the second line and score goals.

"It was important for Swansea to bring in a top striker and Bony is a super player. We're pleased he has joined and he will try to help us. He has scored a lot of goals in the past."

Club-record signing Bony played with Michu for the first time last weekend in a 3-0 victory over Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
