Kyle Naughton: 'Swansea City deserved a point against Liverpool'

Swansea City defender Kyle Naughton believes that his side did not deserve to be beaten by Liverpool in their Premier League clash at Anfield.

Swansea City defender Kyle Naughton has claimed that his side deserved a point in their Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Opportunities were sparse at Anfield for both teams until Neil Taylor was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty area in the second half, and James Milner converted from the spot which proved to be enough to secure the victory for the Reds.

However, Naughton feels that there were plenty of positives for his side to take from the match ahead of their next outing against Leicester City.

He told the club's official website: "I think we deserved to take something from the game. It was a good team performance and we played really well.

"We have to focus on the positives and there are plenty of them from a performance where we matched Liverpool in spells, were better than them in parts and created some good chances. We will put the Liverpool result behind us and just get on with it this week in training looking to put things right ahead of Saturday.

"Our job now is to take that positivity into the game against Leicester, who have been one of the Premier League's best sides this year. But if we perform how we did on Sunday we can definitely get something from next weekend."

Swansea are 15th in the Premier League, four points clear of the relegation zone.
