Franck Tabanou has returned to Saint-Etienne on a loan deal, just six months after he left the French club to join Swansea City.
The former France Under-21 international arrived at the Liberty Stadium in the summer for £3.5m, but since then he has made just three cup appearances for the Welsh club.
As a result, the 26-year-old has been accepted the opportunity to revitalise his career back at Saint-Etienne.
"I had gone to Swansea to get to the next level, to get my foot in the Premier League and to then go higher," he told L'Equipe.
"Unfortunately, it didn't happen the way I wanted. They did not give me my chance. I do not understand."
Tabanou featured 82 times during his first stint with Les Verts.
