Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge is reportedly due to join up with Stuart Pearce's Team GB football squad next week.
The 22-year-old was an initial doubt for the London Games after suffering from viral meningitis last week.
The former Manchester City frontman was optimistic about his chances of competing in this summer's Games, despite contracting the illness.
It is understood that the Blues player will join up with the rest of his teammates in seven days to complete the 18-man squad, according to Sky Sports News.
Meanwhile, the remaining GB team will travel to Spain this afternoon for a stint at a training camp.
