What the papers say

Barcelona have joined the race to sign Marcus Rashford, the Sun reports. Reigning LaLiga champions Barca may have to fight off competition from rivals Real Madrid, who are also said to be vying for the 21-year-old's signature – which could cost them over 100million euros (£86m). All this depends on the England striker's desire to leave the club. It has been reported that he could be on the verge of signing a lucrative new deal that would keep him at Old Trafford until 2025.

United's prospects of buying Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly received a boost after his agent questioned suggestions he may move to Juventus, Sky Sports reports. The 27-year-old Senegal international would would not "betray" the side by moving to their Serie A rivals, agent Bruno Satin said. One major stumbling block remains, however, according to the Daily Mirror. Napoli are likely to demand a world-record fee for the defender, the paper says.

Unai Emery tried to play down suggestions that Paris St Germain are monitoring Matteo Guendouzi, the Daily Mirror reports. The £7million steal arrived from Ligue 2 side Lorient in the summer, but the 19-year-old France Under-21 midfielder has since become a regular fixture and looked dangerous in the Gunners' win over BATE Borisov on Thursday. Asked about the prospect of Guendouzi being subject to bids in the summer window, Emery responded: "I am surprised. I don't want this."

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen is yet to sign a new contract, according to reports (PA)

Christian Eriksen is continuing to hold off signing new terms with Tottenham, despite a mooted deal potentially doubling his wages to £150,000-a-week, the Evening Standard says. His agent, Martin Schoots, told ESPN that the midfielder "only wants to focus himself on football". Spurs have secured the continued services of boss Mauricio Pochettino, Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min on new deals since the summer. Club bosses are said to be keen on keeping Denmark star Eriksen, 27, at the club beyond 2020.
