Amadeo Salvo coy over Valencia transfer plans

Valencia president Amadeo Salvo admits that the club currently have no plans to improve their squad in January, despite being in a strong financial position.

Valencia president Amadeo Salvo has refused to confirm whether the club will be active spenders in the January transfer window.

Los Che made a healthy profit this summer, while Peter Lim's recent takeover has placed the club in an even stronger financial position.

However, Salvo has said that the Spanish side have not yet discussed future transfers.

"We haven't really talked about future transfers yet. If necessary we can sign in the winter, but maybe not," he told Super Deporte.

"In the end it's down to the coach, like in all clubs, and the sporting director can say what possibilities there are and what prices.

"The sporting director has a lot of information and makes the final decision while the coach does the coaching. The sporting director can say what is possible, negotiated and priced."

On the pitch, Valencia have made an impressive start to the season, with 20 points from nine games leaving them just four points off the top of the La Liga table.
