Chris Coleman open to discussing new Wales contract

Chris Coleman is prepared to extend his current contract as manager of Wales, as long as the right structure is put in place.

Chris Coleman has suggested that he is prepared to sign a new contract with Wales after helping his country to their first major competition in 57 years.

The Dragons confirmed their place at next year's European Championship finals on Saturday night thanks to Israel's home defeat against Group B rivals Cyprus.

Having now ended their qualifying hoodoo, Coleman believes that there is still far more to come from his Wales side over the coming years.

"Hopefully we can agree on that," Coleman told BBC Sport when asked about the right structure being put in place. "We've got to keep pushing these lads and that's the only way.

"It's not about resting now we've got to France. We've got think about how we replicate this campaign after we've been to France. We've got to qualify for the [2018] World Cup."

Coleman's contract has been automatically extended until the end of next year's Euros in France.
