Chris Coleman confident of new Wales deal

Wales manager Chris Coleman says that he expects to sign a contract extension soon.

Chris Coleman has revealed that he is confident of extending his tenure as Wales manager beyond next summer when his contract expires.

The former Fulham coach said that he has already held talks with the Welsh FA, and expects to resolve the matter after the international break.

"There won't be a problem," he told reporters. "I should really be signing a new contract very, very soon.

"We have had good talks with Jonathan Ford, our chief executive and the FAW. They have been very good and very positive. It's just that we need to get this block of games out of the way and concentrate on this. Everything is agreed.

"I don't see too many major issues with it and the FA are the same - they want it sorted out as soon as we can so we can go forward. I'll never do a bigger job than the one I'm doing now. It will always mean the most to me and the one I always wanted to do."

Wales face Macedonia in Skopje on Friday.
