Wales boss Chris Coleman: 'We sat back too early against Croatia'

Wales manager Chris Coleman says that his side made the mistake of trying to hang onto their lead "too soon" against Croatia.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has claimed that his side tried to hang onto their one-goal lead "too soon" during their defeat to Croatia.

The visiting side managed to clinch a late 2-1 victory at the Liberty Stadium courtesy of an effort from Eduardo.

"We were nearly there and if we had gone in at half time two or three goals up, we has some real good chances," Coleman told Sky Sports News.

"We sat back and tried to hang onto it a bit too soon maybe, and invite them on, but they're a great team. We can't ask for anymore from our guys."

Wales are now 10 points adrift of automatic qualification.
