Saturday's Championship predictions including Blackburn vs. West Brom

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship action including Blackburn Rovers vs. West Bromwich Albion.

Charlton vs. Reading (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Charlton Athletic play host to Reading on Saturday afternoon holding just a one-point advantage above the Championship relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Reading make the trip to The Valley realistically requiring just one more win to ensure that they remain in the second tier for another season.

We say: Charlton Athletic 1-1 Reading

Given their recent setbacks, Charlton are under pressure to bounce back in what is effectively their most important game of the season. Although we expect them to make most of the running, Reading have enough quality in the final third to claim at least a share of the spoils.

Derby vs. Brentford (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Brentford make the trip to Pride Park to face Derby County on Saturday afternoon looking to further extend their six-match winning streak in the Championship.

Having failed to win either of their last two fixtures, the Rams head into the contest eager to get back on track as they bid to claim a place in the playoffs.

We say: Derby County 1-2 Brentford

With a draw not suiting either side, expect two attack-minded performances in the East Midlands. However, with Derby missing key men, we are backing the visitors to come out on top in an entertaining battle.

Barnsley vs. Wigan (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Barnsley face Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon in what is effectively a must-win game if they are to avoid relegation from the Championship.

The Tykes are four points from safety with four games to play, while Wigan are eight points clear of the drop but face a possible 12-point deduction for entering administration.

We say: Barnsley 1-2 Wigan Athletic

Wigan were beaten heavily by Brentford in their most recent away outing but have not lost back-to-back on their travels since October. Cook's men have been in good form overall since the restart and we are backing them to all but condemn Barnsley to the drop this weekend.

Blackburn vs. West Brom (Saturday, 3.00pm)

West Bromwich Albion make the trip to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon knowing that a fourth victory in succession will move the club to the brink of promotion to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Rovers welcome the Baggies to Ewood Park aware that they realistically require three points to remain in contention for a place in the Championship playoffs.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 1-2 West Bromwich Albion

While Blackburn are on a high after their success in midweek, we feel that West Brom will up their level as they bid to confirm promotion. Although it will likely be a hard-fought contest, the Baggies could edge out their hosts.

Hull City vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Hull City and Millwall with both be looking to bounce back from respective defeats when they go head-to-head at the KCOM Stadium in Saturday's Championship clash.

Hull find themselves back down in the bottom three ahead of the weekend's fixture, while Millwall have seen their playoffs hopes dwindle in the last few weeks.

We say: Hull City 1-2 Millwall

Hull have been nothing short of abysmal since the turn of the year, and Millwall will feel that this fixture gives them an ideal opportunity to keep the pressure on the teams above them, so we expect the Lions to continue their impressive recent away record with a slender victory at the KCOM Stadium.

Middlesbrough vs. Bristol City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Promotion outsiders Bristol City will be looking to build on their first Championship win since February when travel to relegation-threatened Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.

Middlesbrough also enjoyed victory last time out as they boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win at Millwall on Wednesday.

We say: Middlesbrough 1-1 Bristol City

Bristol City would have received a huge injection of confidence after finally managing to get three points on the board following the restart, and Middlesbrough have struggled on their own patch in recent months, so we are expecting both teams to walk away with a share of the spoils at the weekend.

Preston vs. Nott'm Forest (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides with aspirations of qualifying for the playoffs will lock horns in the Championship on Saturday as Preston North End welcome Nottingham Forest to Deepdale.

Forest are comfortably in the mix for a top-six finish as they lie fifth on 68 points, while Preston are three points adrift of sixth-placed Cardiff City as they occupy eighth position on 61 points.

We say: Preston 1-1 Nottingham Forest

This fixture has all the makings of a tightly-fought battle. Preston will be fully aware that the race to secure a playoff spot is far from over, and Neil should expect to see that motivation translate onto the pitch. Forest's recent from has not been all that bad despite their disappointing defeat to Fulham, but we cannot pick a winner for this one.

QPR vs. Sheff Weds (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides with little to play for as the Championship season draws to a close will go head-to-head on Saturday as Queens Park Rangers welcome Sheffield Wednesday to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Both clubs go into the fixture following defeats in their most recent outings, with QPR suffering a 1-0 loss to Wigan Athletic and Wednesday subjected to a 3-1 home defeat to Preston North End.

We say: QPR 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

With little riding on this fixture for both sides, complacency could start to creep in as the season prepares to reach its conclusion. Neither team has hit the ground running since the restart and we expect a closely-fought draw to be played out in the capital this weekend.
