West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt hit with one-match ban

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt is banned for one match by the FA.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt has been banned for one match and fined £8,000 after admitting a Football Association misconduct charge.

The 30-year-old admitted to using "abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards a match official" at the end of his side's FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Aston Villa on March 7.

The match at Villa Park finished in chaos as thousands of home fans ran onto the pitch following the final whistle.

Brunt's suspension means that he will miss the Baggies' trip to Manchester City in the Premier League this Saturday.
