Sevilla head coach Julen Lopetegui has revealed that Anthony Martial remains an injury doubt for the first leg of their last-16 tie in the Europa League against West Ham United on Thursday, and claims that he has many other players ruled out with injuries.
Martial, who joined Los Nervionenses on loan from Manchester United in January, has missed the last three games due to a muscle injury, but he has been named in their 22-man squad and trained with the first-team squad on Wednesday morning.
Speaking to the press ahead of Thursday's game in Spain, Lopetegui stated that he has lost count as to how many players are currently injured, but he was hopeful that Martial would be available to feature against West Ham.
"We will see tomorrow if [Martial] can help us," the Spanish boss said. "We have many players absent, you can't even count them because there are that many.
"The important ones are the players that play, not the ones that have to stay at home. We have the utmost trust in the boys that have to face up to this hard and difficult task, despite the problems we have.
"We are competing in long and tough tournaments like La Liga and now we have one of the most complicated opponents in front of us, but we carry on believing we can defeat them. We trust in the resources we have available to us."
Martial has enjoyed plenty of success against West Ham in recent years during his time with Man United, scoring six goals and registering five assists in 13 games.
Meanwhile, Diego Carlos, Fernando, Erik Lamela, Alejandro Gomez, Karim Rekik and Gonzalo Montiel are also doubtful, while Suso is ruled out with an ankle problem and Thomas Delaney is suspended.
