Matt Jarvis admits to 'mixed emotions' after Arsenal defeat

Matt Jarvis admits that he experienced mixed emotions during West Ham's 3-0 defeat away to Arsenal, in which he started his first Premier League game since November.

West Ham United winger Matt Jarvis has admitted that he experienced mixed emotions during Saturday's defeat to Arsenal.

The 28-year-old started his first Premier League game since November at the Emirates Stadium, but the Hammers fell to 3-0 loss to their London rivals.

Sam Allardyce's side have now failed to win any of their last seven games in the top flight.

"It's mixed for me really," Jarvis told the club's official website. "I was delighted to get back in the team and play, but gutted with the final result and really wish we didn't concede right on half time.

"That knocked us. Going in to half time at 0-0 would have been great and allowed us to set our stall out for the second half.

"One of the things we wanted to do was get in behind, put crosses in and create chances. For spells we did that and it would have been nice to get the first goal and see what happened from there."

West Ham are back in action on March 21 when they welcome Sunderland to Upton Park in the league.
