David Moyes has confirmed that he is in talks with former West Ham United captain Stuart Pearce over a backroom coaching role at the London Stadium.
The Hammers turned to Moyes on Tuesday as a replacement for Slaven Bilic, who was sacked with the club occupying a spot in the bottom three of the Premier League.
All but one of Bilic's staff have departed the East London outfit, leaving Moyes with the task of bringing in several replacements, and the 54-year-old intends to make Pearce one of his first appointments.
"I'm in talks with a couple of people, Stuart Pearce one of them," he told reporters at his unveiling on Wednesday afternoon. "Hopefully I will have something settled by the end of the week."
Speaking earlier this week, Pearce admitted that he would be interested in linking up with the Hammers should the opportunity arise.
