West Ham United's Kevin Nolan: 'Play me or sell me'

Kevin Nolan warns West Ham boss Slaven Bilic that he will not settle for a place on the bench during the 2015-16 season.

Kevin Nolan has told West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic to play him or sell him ahead of the new Premier League season.

The 33-year-old was a prominent fixture during Sam Allardyce's reign at Upton Park but it remains to be seen what role Bilic envisages for the midfielder.

Nolan started both legs of the Hammers' Europa League qualifying tie with Birkirkara, and the veteran hopes to be used just as regularly when their domestic campaign resumes on August 9.

"I have made my feelings known that I don't want to be sitting on the bench," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Star. "I want to be playing and give my all in training.

"If that's good enough, then great. If not we'll have to sit down and see where we go from there. I've really enjoyed the last three or four weeks playing in Europe.

"I'm coming to the tail-end of my career and I've got to do what's best for me and my family. To be fair, we haven't got that far yet but we'll see."

The Irons travel to FA Cup winners Arsenal for their first game of the league season.
