West Ham United are guaranteed to be playing Premier League football again next season courtesy of Southampton's 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.

The Saints looked on course for a priceless victory in their battle against the drop courtesy of Nathan Redmond's opener on Merseyside, but a deflected strike from Tom Davies in the sixth minute of stoppage time - despite only four being signalled - saw Everton rescue a point.

The result means that West Ham now sit five points clear of the relegation zone with two games remaining, but with 17th-placed Southampton facing 18th-placed Swansea City in midweek the Hammers can no longer be caught.

David Moyes's side beat Leicester City 2-0 at the King Power Stadium earlier this afternoon to move to the brink of safety ahead of their final two games of the season - against Manchester United and Everton.

West Ham will now go into those matches against Moyes's former clubs guaranteed of a seventh consecutive season in the top flight.
