Roberto Martinez says that Wigan Athletic are only concerned with their own fate as they prepare for a "huge game" against Blackburn Rovers tonight.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that he is not thinking about the possibility of sending Blackburn Rovers down into the Championship this evening.

The two sides meet at Ewood Park tonight and if the Latics snatch three points from the fixture, Steve Kean's side will plummet out of the Premier League.

"It's about how I'd feel about achieving Premier League status for Wigan because we're fighting for our lives," the Daily Star quotes Martinez as saying.

"We haven't got enough points and we need to finish the job. It's not about the opposition. We have learned to focus on ourselves.

"It doesn't matter who we are playing, whether it is a Champions League contender or a team with us in the relegation scrap. We're not thinking about the destiny of the opposition. We're thinking about ourselves. It's a huge game."

Wigan can go five points clear of the relegation zone with a win at the Lancashire ground.
