Andy Murray admits that he was pleased with his "solid" display as he eased past Stanislas Wawrinka at the ATP World Tour Finals.

Andy Murray has said that he was pleased with his performance in his victory over Stanislas Wawrinka at the ATP World Tour Finals.

The world number one only needed to win one set against the Swiss to qualify for the semi-finals, but despite a strong opening from his opponent, he was able to ease to a 6-4 6-2 win at the O2 Arena.

After the match, the 29-year-old said: "The first set was tight. There weren't many chances. I managed to get the break late in the set. In the second set I'd already qualified for the semis so maybe it was easier for me to play more free than him.

"Things can change quick at this level. Stan is one of the best players in the world. When he plays at his best he's unplayable. I played a solid match and am happy to get to the semis."

Murray will now face Milos Raonic in the last four on Saturday afternoon.
