Rafael Nadal has admitted that his Madrid Masters title is a special one, after coming back from a long injury lay-off last year.
Nadal beat Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2 6-4 this afternoon, showing that his form is peaking ahead of the French Open later this month.
The world number five said that he was happy with his performances in Madrid.
"Maybe this win is even more special given where I came back from," Nadal told La Sexta.
"Playing in Madrid is always very exciting for me and the tournament couldn't have worked out better."
Nadal will play in the Rome Masters next week, before the French Open begins at the end of the month.
