Vasek Pospisil edges into Swiss semi-final

Vasek Pospisil reaches the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors courtesy of a hard-fought straight-sets victory over Ivan Dodig.

Vasek Pospisil has qualified for the Swiss Indoors semi-final courtesy of a hard-fought 7-6[11] 6-4 win over Ivan Dodig this afternoon.

Both players were impeccable on their serves during the first set, with neither giving away a single break point as they went into a tie-break.

The breaks came more frequently during the tie-break, but it was no less even as both players had three set points apiece before Pospisil finally wrapped the first set up with an 13-11 win.

The second set began in a similar vein, but Pospisil finally recorded the first break of the match in the fifth game to take the lead.

Dodig hit straight back by winning the next game against serve to level things up once more, but it was the Canadian who got the crucial second break before serving out to win the set 6-4.

Pospisil will face either Grigor Dimitrov or home favourite Roger Federer in the semi-finals.
