David Beckham hits back at Arsene Wenger's "disgraceful" critics

David Beckham slams Arsenal fans calling for manager Arsene Wenger to leave the club.

David Beckham has defended Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after fans called on the Frenchman to leave his job.

Wenger has come under pressure from supporters after his team slipped down the Premier League title race and were knocked out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage.

The Gunners are also in danger of slipping out of the Champions League as they currently have a 2-0 deficit against Barcelona in the last-16 stage of the competition.

A group of fans unfurled a banner reading, 'Arsene. Thanks for the memories but it's time to say goodbye' during the team's 4-0 win over Hull City in their FA Cup fifth-round replay on Monday.

After spotting a picture of the banner on Instagram, Beckham commented: "Disgraceful ... No respect attention seekers."

Beckham spent 11 years playing for Arsenal's rivals Manchester United, but trained under Wenger twice during his time in MLS and his teenage son Brooklyn was once a member of the team's academy.
