Report: Arsenal to trigger Loic Remy release clause

Arsenal are reportedly in pole position to sign France forward Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers this summer.

Arsenal are reportedly in pole position to sign France forward Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers this summer.

The 27-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Newcastle United and has netted 13 goals in 23 Premier League appearances for the Magpies.

Newcastle want to keep Remy on a permanent basis, but that looks unlikely now that the Gunners have entered the race for his signature.

Remy is said to be keen to move to the North London club and, according to The People, manager Arsene Wenger plans to sign the player for around £8m by activating a release clause in his contract, which is due to expire in June 2017.
