Sevilla are reportedly on the brink of re-signing Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic on a three-year contract.

Sevilla are reportedly on the brink of announcing the signing of Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

While the Croatia international was involved in 41 matches last season, it has long been suggested that the 32-year-old is available for transfer.

Although Rakitic has been linked with a switch to the Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1, former club Sevilla have always been his preferred destination.

According to Marca, the player is now undergoing a medical at the Europa League winners ahead of having his return confirmed on Monday night.

Rakitic, who previously represented Sevilla between 2011 and 2014, will pen a three-year contract at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

The midfielder will leave Camp Nou having contributed 36 goals from 310 appearances in all competitions.
