Lucien Favre rules out return for Dante

Borussia Monchengladbach manager Lucien Favre rules out a potential move for Bayern Munich's Brazilian defender Dante.

Borussia Monchengladbach manager Lucien Favre has ruled out a potential return for Bayern Munich's Dante, who has failed to secure regular first-team football under Pep Guardiola.

Dante, who played for Monchengladbach from 2009 until 2012, has been linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena after he was substituted just 30 minutes into Bayern's 3-1 win over Hannover last weekend.

The 31-year-old recently revealed that he recognises why he was substituted and has since played down speculation of a potential move away.

Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl remains in contact with Dante but Favre is dismissing a possible move for the defender.

"Dante will not come back to Gladbach. This is definitely impossible," Favre said, according to Goal.com.

"I do not think that Max Eberl thinks otherwise. This is just talk in the media. For me, this is ridiculous.

"It's not just about the money. But we will not begin to dream."

Dante has made 29 appearances for Bayern in all competitions this season.
