Chelsea injury, suspension news and return dates for Copenhagen: Chalobah, Badiashile, Madueke latest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the first leg of the Conference League last-16 tie against Copenhagen.

Chelsea return to action on Thursday evening when they square off against Copenhagen in the first leg of their Conference League last-16 tie.

Come kickoff in Denmark, the Blues would have had nine days since their previous outing, a morale-boosting 4-0 victory over Southampton in the Premier League.

However, it remains to be seen whether any of the players in the treatment room will be in a position to return for the first of the double-header versus the Danish Superliga leaders.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to Scandinavia for what will be viewed as one of their most important fixtures of the season.

Trevoh Chalobah

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: March 6 (vs. Copenhagen)

After Chalobah suffered a back injury against Aston Villa on February 22, Maresca ruled the defender out for between seven to 10 days. As a result, it will be touch and go whether he will be available for this fixture.

Benoit Badiashile

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: March 9 (vs. Leicester City)

Badiashile is also nearing a return from a thigh injury that has kept him sidelined since December. As it stands, there is a small chance that the Frenchman could feature among the replacements.

Omari Kellyman

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Kellyman is still waiting for his first senior Chelsea appearance due to a hamstring problem. Although he is nearing a return to Under-21 games, he will not be considered for this game.

Romeo Lavia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: April 2 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Lavia's latest injury issue is expected to keep him sidelined until after the March international break. Nevertheless, the Belgium international has been left out of the squad for Conference League fixtures and would have been unavailable regardless.

Nicolas Jackson

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 2 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Likewise, Jackson is likely to be missing until the beginning of April on account of his own hamstring problem, which he picked up against West Ham United on February 3.

Marc Guiu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 2 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Fellow striker Guiu hurt his hamstring in the same match after replacing Jackson, and this game is expected to come too soon for his return.

Noni Madueke

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 2 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Completing Chelsea's list of thigh-related absentees, Madueke suffered a problem against Brighton & Hove Albion on February 14 and should also be out until after the next international break.
