Steven Gerrard praises Frank Lampard's longevity

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard praises Frank Lampard's career, insisting that the midfielder deserves all the praise that he gets.

Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has paid tribute to Frank Lampard's career as the Chelsea man approaches 100 caps for England.

Lampard will make his 100th international appearance if he features in Tuesday's crucial World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

Gerrard, who reached the same milestone last November, believes that Lampard deserves all the plaudits, describing his career for club and country as "tremendous".

"No one deserves it more than he does. He has been tremendous for club and country," Gerrard told reporters.

"He has been a top player and hopefully I will be on the pitch to share that moment with him because I have been with him all the way through. He is a good friend of mine and I can't wait for him to get it."

Lampard made his debut against Belgium in 1999 and has scored 29 goals in his 99 appearances so far.
