Crystal Palace's Ruben Loftus-Cheek to start for England against Germany?

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek - who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace - will reportedly start for England against Germany on Friday night.

England boss Gareth Southgate has reportedly decided to hand an England debut to Ruben Loftus-Cheek for Friday's friendly with Germany.

Last week, the Chelsea midfielder - who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace - was given his first senior call-up by Southgate and it appears that the 21-year-old will be given an immediate taste of international action.

According to Sky Sports News, Southgate has opted to start Loftus-Cheek in the friendly with the world champions at Wembley Stadium, despite making just a total of 12 Premier League starts in his career.

Half of those outings have come while representing bottom-of-the-table Palace this season, but the central midfielder has made the same number of starts during his time at Stamford Bridge.

However, Loftus-Cheek is no stranger to Southgate having scored seven goals in 17 appearances during his time playing for England Under-21s.
