Chelsea defender David Luiz plays down his late-game clash with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero in Saturday's Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea defender David Luiz has played down his late-game clash with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero in Saturday's Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium, which finished 3-1 to the Blues.

The Argentine striker was sent off for a stoppage-time tackle on Luiz, which subsequently sparked a melee between both sets of players that saw Fernandinho dismissed and bookings for Chelsea's Nathaniel Chalobah and Cesc Fabregas.

The two players have history, with the Brazil international on the receiving end of a two-footed tackle from Aguero in the 2013 FA Cup semi-final.

Luiz told Sky Sports News: "I don't like to publicise things. This is not part of the beautiful football.

"Aguero is an amazing player, he scores a lot, he wins a lot. It is better when you talk about Aguero to talk about good things rather than bad things.

"It is quite normal frustration when you don't win the game and I don't like to speak about negative things. It is normal in football - when you win you're happy, when you lose you're sad."

Aguero has already missed three games through suspension this season for elbowing West Ham United's Winston Reid and is now facing a potential four-match ban.
