Barcelona are eyeing a January move for Chelsea centre-back David Luiz, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in a January move for Chelsea centre-back David Luiz.

The Spanish champions are currently light in central defence, with Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen on the sidelines.

A number of defenders have been linked with moves to Camp Nou over the last few weeks, and according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are considering a swoop for Chelsea's Luiz.

The Brazilian represented Chelsea between 2011 and 2014 before moving to Paris Saint-Germain, where he scored eight times in 89 appearances in all competitions.

Luiz returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2016, and after a frustrating 2017-18 campaign with the Blues has become a feature of Maurizio Sarri's back four this season.

The 31-year-old has a contract with the London giants until the end of next season.
