Saturday's Nations League predictions including England vs. Italy

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Nations League fixtures, including England vs. Italy.

Ukraine vs. Armenia (Saturday, 2.00pm)

After a much-changed side bounced back from playoff heartbreak to win their first UEFA Nations League fixture in midweek, Ukraine meet outsiders Armenia in Lodz on Saturday afternoon.

Though the troubled nation's World Cup dreams are over, they are tied on points with their visitors and Scotland at the top of the early League B Group 1 table, and will now host a first match at their new adopted home.

We say: Ukraine 3-0 Armenia

Despite the backdrop of conflict at home, and the crushing disappointment of missing out on Qatar 2022, Ukraine have acquitted themselves admirably over the last fortnight, and they are comfortably at home in League B.

Armenia, meanwhile, are still new to this level of Nations League competition, and are not particularly prolific - drawing a blank in four of their last seven games. Their weekend trip to Poland, then, should end pointless.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Rep. Ireland vs. Scotland (Saturday, 5.00pm)

Republic of Ireland play host to Scotland on Saturday evening having suffered back-to-back defeats at the start of their UEFA Nations League campaign.

While the home side have made the worst possible start to Group B1, Scotland sit top of the standings after victory over Armenia on Wednesday night.

We say: Republic of Ireland 1-1 Scotland

Despite their dismal Nations League record, Republic of Ireland will hope to have a change of fortunes at some stage. While that may not necessarily come on Saturday, we feel that the Green Army will do enough to claim a hard-earned share of the spoils in a tight match.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Faroe Islands vs. Lithuania (Saturday, 5.00pm)

Following two defeats each in their opening UEFA Nations League fixtures, something must give when Faroe Islands and Lithuania go head to head on Saturday.

The outcome in Torshavn could well play a huge part in deciding who suffers relegation from Group C1, after both sides have failed to score a single goal during the 2022 campaign so far.

We say: Faroe Islands 1-0 Lithuania

There is unlikely to be too many goals in this Group C1 encounter on Saturday, with both sides lacking a severe amount of quality and confidence heading into their meeting.

We are predicting that the Faroe Islands will edge out their visitors by a narrow margin though, courtesy of home advantage providing them with a slight edge.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Netherlands vs. Poland (Saturday, 7.45pm)

The Netherlands will aim to make it three wins from three in the UEFA Nations League when Poland make the journey to Rotterdam on Saturday evening.

Louis van Gaal's side left it late to snatch a 2-1 victory over Wales in midweek, while the visitors were thumped 6-1 by Belgium in a humbling.

We say: Netherlands 3-1 Poland

While a change in shape and personnel should at least see Poland's defence tighten up a tad, the visitors' defensive record away from home makes for bleak reading, and a well-rested crop of Netherlands stars should have a glint in their eyes here.

Poland always possess a goal threat going forwards, but Van Gaal has overseen a stellar period of rejuvenation at the Oranje helm and will expect to see his side move onto nine points with relative ease.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Wales vs. Belgium (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Wales play host to Belgium in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday evening having suffered back-to-back defeats in Group A4.

Although the Dragons will be satisfied with their World Cup spot, they require a result against a Belgium side who have just hit six past Poland.

We say: Wales 1-2 Belgium

With Wales likely to go as full-strength as possible, they should have enough quality to push their stronger opponents all of the way. However, this game could go a similar way to the one against the Netherlands, with Belgium potentially edging the contest in the closing stages.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

England vs. Italy (Saturday, 7.45pm)

An empty Molineux plays host to a repeat of the Euro 2020 final on Saturday evening, as England face off against Italy in the UEFA Nations League.

The Three Lions salvaged a 1-1 draw against Germany in their most recent League A Group 3 encounter, while Roberto Mancini's side scraped past Hungary 2-1.

We say: England 1-0 Italy

Southgate is facing ever-increasing scrutiny after a pair of dissatisfactory showings in the Nations League, with England's attacking stars simply not clicking into gear, but the Azzurri are not the force they once were either.

The young and inexperienced forward line at Mancini's disposal could struggle to break down the Three Lions' stingy defence, and we can envisage the Three Lions finally posting a first win on the board in what may not be the most entertaining affair.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Hungary vs. Germany (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Hungary will aim to claim another memorable result against Germany when they face off against their League A Group 3 rivals in Saturday's UEFA Nations League contest at the Puskas Arena.

Marco Rossi's side went down 2-1 to Italy on matchday two, whereas the visitors were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against England on their own turf.

We say: Hungary 0-2 Germany

The goalscoring luck of a disciplined Hungary side on home soil may run out against a well-drilled German outfit, who will feel aggrieved not to have come away from any of their two opening encounters with all three points.

The Magyars will prove a stern test as ever, but Flick has an abundance of well-rested attackers and Bundesliga stars who are aware of and can quell the threat of Szoboszlai, which should ultimately lead to a professional performance and win for the visitors.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Montenegro vs. Bosnia H'vina (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Battling it out for the chance to go top of their UEFA Nations League group, Balkan neighbours Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina meet in Podgorica on Saturday.

While the visitors have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the new campaign, and are level on points with early League B Group 3 leaders Finland, their hosts lost away to the Finns on Tuesday.

We say: Montenegro 1-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina

Having achieved better results away from home than back in Bosnia over the past 12 months, the visitors will expect to take at least a point from their trip across the border.

With greater depth of experience at top-level European clubs, they should have the edge over Montenegro this weekend, and could even take top spot in Group 3 depending on how Finland fare in Romania.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Romania vs. Finland (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Romania head into their UEFA Nations League fixture with Finland having started life in Group B3 with successive defeats.

In sharp contrast, Finland have collected four points from two games, and victory on Saturday evening would realistically ensure that relegation from the third tier is no longer a possibility.

We say: Romania 1-1 Finland

The form book points to Finland remaining on track for promotion and pushing Romania towards the second tier exit door. However, despite their lack of goals, we are backing Romania to find some form in front of their own supporters, even if it may only be enough for a share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Luxembourg vs. Turkey (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Luxembourg and Turkey will see their 100% UEFA Nations League records go on the line when they go head to head at the Stade de Luxembourg on Saturday evening.

Both sides have enjoyed victories in each of their two opening games in the 2022 competition, with neither conceding a goal so far either.

We say: Luxembourg 0-2 Turkey

Despite starting their Nations League campaign so excellently so far, Luxembourg are unlikely to pick up a third positive result when they welcome Turkey on Saturday.

The step up in quality compared to their recent opponents should prove too much for the hosts, and if Turkey can put in another comprehensive display, they should stroll to a comfortable victory here.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
