Preview: Everton vs. Wolfsburg

Sports Mole previews Thursday's Europa League encounter between Everton and Wolfsburg at Goodison Park.

European football returns to Goodison Park on Thursday night as Everton host Wolfsburg in Group H of the Europa League.

The Toffees, who last played in Europe in 2009-10, qualified for the competition by finishing in fifth place in the Premier League table last season.

Roberto Martinez's side has had an average start to the current league campaign, with one win, two draws and one defeat from their opening four games.

Visitors Wolfsburg have fared little better in the Bundesliga this season, taking just two point out of a possible nine so far.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez recently confirmed that Sylvain Distin and Samuel Eto'o are available for the match after recently spending time on the sidelines. Bryan Oviedo and Arouna Kone remain out of action, though they are expected to be back in contention soon.

Wolfsburg will be without Ivan Perisic, who is unavailable with a shoulder injury, but Luiz Gustavo, Kevin De Bryune and Ivica Olic are all expected to start for the Germans.
