Leyton Orient sack manager Ian Hendon?

Leyton Orient reportedly part ways with manager Ian Hendon and appoint his assistant Andy Hessenthaler to the role on a caretaker basis.

Leyton Orient reportedly sacked manager Ian Hendon on Saturday night after the side's 3-1 loss at home to Exeter City.

The former O's defender was given the top job in May 2015 following the club's relegation to League Two and made an impressive start, winning four of the first five games of the season, but then won just four of the following 22 games to leave them 11th in the table.

According to the Waltham Forest Guardian, Hendon was dismissed by club president Francesco Becchetti shortly after the most recent defeat, although the club has yet to officially announce his departure.

Assistant manager Andy Hessenthaler is thought to have been given the job on a caretaker basis until a permanent successor is found.

Hendon's dismissal came one day after Becchetti was given a six-month stadium ban for kicking Hessenthaler after a game on Boxing Day.
