Harry Kane's record vs. Liverpool

Ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, Sports Mole delves into Harry Kane's record against the Reds.

Two top-four hopefuls will go head to head at Wembley on Sunday when Tottenham Hotspur welcome Liverpool to their temporary home.

Four points currently separate the two sides in the Premier League table, with Spurs running the leading Manchester clubs closest so far while Liverpool languish down in eighth place having won just one of their last five league games.

There will be plenty of attacking talent on show too, with both clubs amongst the highest scoring in the league so far this season, and the most deadly of the lot is Tottenham's prolific striker Harry Kane.

Scoring six goals in his eight league appearances so far this term, Kane is still yet to find the back of the net in a domestic match at Wembley since Tottenham moved to the stadium at the start of the campaign.

Sunday will give him another chance to do that against one of his side's main rivals for a Champions League place, and here Sports Mole looks further into his past record against Liverpool.

Kane spent three matches on the bench against Liverpool for Norwich City and Spurs before finally getting his first crack at the Reds in the 2014-15 season.

The England international was typically on the scoresheet too, equalising after Lazar Markovic's opener to send Spurs into half time at Anfield all square.

However, second-half strikes from Steven Gerrard and Mario Balotelli either side of a Mousa Dembele goal - assisted by Kane - saw Liverpool claim a 3-2 victory, with Kane picking up a late yellow card to add insult to injury.

Kane's first home match against Liverpool the following season ended goalless, but he was again on the scoresheet at Anfield in the reverse when he earned his side a point by cancelling out Philippe Coutinho's opener.

Last season saw Spurs draw 1-1 at White Hart Lane, with Kane being brought off in the final 10 minutes having not managed to find the back of the net, and he drew another blank at Anfield in February as Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners courtesy of a Sadio Mane brace.
