Kenny Dalglish: 'Liverpool will keep faith in Luis Suarez'

Former Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish believes that the Merseyside club will keep faith in striker Luis Suarez despite the latest biting scandal involving the Uruguayan.

Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has suggested that striker Luis Suarez needs to seek help in order to maintain his discipline on the pitch.

Suarez has been banned for four months and a total of nine international games after biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini while playing for Uruguay in the World Cup finals in Brazil.

However, despite the length of the ban, which will see Suarez miss 13 fixtures for Liverpool, Dalglish believes that his former side will keep faith with the forward, who scored 31 goals during the last campaign.

The Scot told The Mirror: "I think you will find that Liverpool will not turn their back on Suarez, whatever the ban that FIFA have decided he must serve. Of course, it will be a heavy blow if the club has to do without him for the opening months of the season.

"You can't really ask any one person why what happened against Italy happened, because there is only person who knows and that is Luis - some people have injuries you can't see.

"Sometimes, when people have something wrong with them, just because they don't have a plaster cast on their leg, people think they don't need help."

This week's incident is the third time that Suarez has been banned for biting an opponent.
