Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony questions Sergio Aguero start at Arsenal

Wilfried Bony believes that he should have started for Manchester City ahead of the returning Sergio Aguero on Monday against Arsenal.

Manchester City frontman Wilfried Bony has questioned why he was dropped for Monday's Premier League match at Arsenal when his replacement Sergio Aguero was not fully fit.

Aguero returned after almost a month on the sidelines in the 2-1 defeat at the Emirates, but Bony, who had scored three goals in four games, felt that he should have led the line.

"[Aguero] is coming back from injury. He hasn't played for a couple of weeks. I'm disappointed today that I didn't start but I'm not the coach," PA quotes the Ivorian as saying.

"The coach does what he thinks is best for the team. I'm sure everyone on the bench wants to play. He just has to choose 11 players.

"So when I come on I just try to do my best to try to score or to give an assist to the other players to score to help the team to win."

Bony, who did replace Aguero shortly after the hour mark, joined City from Swansea for almost £30m in January, but has only started 10 league games since then.
